ISAW to launch debut album on 7th October
Adelaide metal outfit ISAW are about to release their debut full lenth album The Identity on 7th October, having the official launch party at their local The Cavern Bar on 11th November.
The band's style spans over numeroous genres of metal, allowing ideas of different origins and intensities to develope, their most significant influences including bands such as Machine Head, Strapping Young Lad, Metallica, Mudvayne and Mnemic.
The five piece has been headlining local shows over the past year or more, steadily building a following of loyal fans, but gaining recognition hasn't come without effort.
"The metal scene is very much an underground scene, and that's just how we like it," drummer Kim Fiddaman states, "it's a difficult task to be recognised in this genre considering the talent and skill metal musicians must have. But if it were any other way than that, recognition wouldn't hold as much value."
Having been nominated in the top 5 Australian artists for the metal/ hardcore category at the MusicOz Awards, winning Triple J's Unearthed competition and most notably opening the metal stage at Soundwave 2010 before thousands of fans, followers of ISAW have been waiting for a follow up of the 2008 three-track Demo.
Kim says that the new album is a culmination of the highs and lows the band has experienced over the past few years.
"It has really been a rollercoaster ride for the band since its inception in 2007. We have been doing the local rounds for the past few years and we have also had a line-up change...while this has all been challenging, we are all ina really good headspace currently." he says.
He continues: "We are stoked with the new album and it was a real privilege to work with Forrester Savell as producer. We loved the work he did with Karnivool and Dead Letter Circus, he really brought the sound of the band to life."
Fans of the band can sample a taste of the new album by downloading the album's first single 'Catch 22' from the ISAW website. The song is also available for streaming over YouTube.
