Irish experimental metallers Censura about to unleash long awaited debut EP

If you haven't heard of Irish experimental metal 5-piece Censura yet in the land of Down Under, don't be alarmed: these charismatic and hard-working lads have just finished recording their debut EP The Island which will be unleashed soon! The one word being used over and over again while recording this EP was “different”, different at any cost. The band took a lot of risks and tried to propose a new sound, a new way of writing metal.

Censura wanted to be positive, technical, groovy and fun, including technical parts but with a few catchy choruses! Censura has also been mainly influenced with Dub-steps parts inspired by pioneers of the genre like Pendulum but also recently by super talented DJs like Skrillex.

You won’t hear big synths and drum machines all the time on the new songs, but the vibe is defiantly close to bands like The Prodigy, or the more industrial songs of Devin Townsend.

After several years of hard work and gaining experience, Dom Mc Inerney(guitarist) of Censura, finally found the right guys to work with.

He defined the new direction of the band by adding Charles “Kallaghan” Massabo, the band's music producer and bassist to the mix. Kal is recognized for his work in France and Europe, producing bands like Hewitt, being the singer and composer for SIKH and more recently for his work with Mudrock (Godsmack, Avenged Sevenfold).

The new singer, Jimmy Trigger, is a great front man and brings a lot of positivity to the band. With his P.M.M.A (= Positive Mental Mother***ing Attitude)  and on-stage energy, Jimmy is definitely the main man when it comes to live performances.

Censura was helped by Billy Cussen and Conor Mulqueeny during the recording of the EP and will play on their first live Irish tour with Brian Meaney (Roper) on the drums.

With the band just having released their first music video of the song The Voice , anticipation is rising! Filmed in Co. Clare, on Ireland's West Coast close to the Cliffs of Moher, the video was directed by Ben Cappelletti (Aliases, Tess,...).

EP review will be up later this week, giving you all the insights into this interesting new band from the green isle. Watch this space!
