Anno Domini to Enter Studio Following Final Live Dates
Sydney-based metallers, Anno Domini, have revealed that their final shows for 2011 will mark the end of live performance for the outfit, as they will enter studio hibernation to record a single and album follow-up to their debut full-length release, Atrocities.
In a message from guitarist Danny Straughen, it was expressed that the band’s forthcoming shows with Claim The Throne and as part of Bastardfest will mark the last occasion that Anno Domini fans will get to experience the music off Atrocities in the live format, with Danny additionally mentioning that a possible line-up change may be a prospect taken up by the band in the near future.
Commented Danny:
“These two gigs mark the end of gigging with Atrocities before we go deep in recording mode for a single followed by an album and before Iain Mclure [guitarist and founding member] holidays in Europe for an undisclosed amount of time - so a lineup change is possible but not confirmed...”
The imminent and as-yet-untitled new releases from Anno Domini have received tentative release dates, with the single expected in mid 2012, and the sophomore full-length effort in early 2013.
Danny adds:
“I have been working on material for the last few months and am stoked at how they are developing; the new stuff is sounding huge to say the least, I'm confident we will out-do Atrocities by a mile.
“I can confirm we're working on a concept for the single and album combined, but we're still working on the finer points.”
The band is planning to release a number of studio video diaries to give their fans an inside look into the recording process of Anno Domini.
Anno Domini final touring dates for 2011 are as follows:
- Friday, September 9th at The Basement, Canberra with Claim The Throne
- Saturday, September 10th at The Sandringham Hotel, Sydney BASTARDFEST Festival
