Russian Circles announce second Sydney and two more Melbourne shows!
Chicago based Russian Circles have announced a second Sydney show and two more Melbourne shows as part of their Australian and New Zealand tour this September!
The three-piece will be playing an earlier show at Sydney’s Hermanns Bar on Sunday, September 11th, from 4 to 7pm, with a late show scheduled from 8 to 11pm on the same night.
Additionally, the outfit will be playing on Wednesday, September 7th at the East Brunswick Club in Melbourne with Encircling Sea, Agonhymn and Hotel Wrecking City Traders, and have been announced as the main support to Monster Magnet at The Palace in Melbourne on Friday, September 16th.
The prog rockers are trekking through Australia and New Zealand in support of their latest full length album, Geneva. Recorded with Brandon Curtis of The Secret Machines, Geneva is the third studio record from the band, seeing its release in October of 2009.
Currently working on their fourth studio album, which is tentatively due for an October 2011 release through Sargent House, guitarist Mike Sullivan stated that surprises from the new record can be expected.
Commented Sullivan:
“I don’t want to get too into it, but there are definitely things that are new to us, that we didn’t really put thought into but just started happening in the writing process.
“We were more adventurous with our tones; it’s a broader spectrum of tones.”
Beginning with their self titled and self released debut EP in 2004, Russian Circles has since received critical acclaim for their music, with Geneva making its mark on the Billboard charts, landing at #24.
