Death Audio announces departure of Jaymz Phillips, welcomes Phil Gee

Melbourne-based metal outfit Death Audio has recently announced the departure of guitarist and vocalist Jaymz Phillips from the outfit. In a statement from the band, available below, Death Audio has cited Phillips’ leave as owing to personal reasons, and has welcomed Phil Gee [New Skinn] to the reformed line-up.

Commented the band:

"This will not come as a surprise if you came to our show last weekend. But we are sad to announce that Jaymz Phillips have decided to parts ways with us. Jaymz has been part of Death Audio since February 2010, he wasn't only just part of the band but part of a family. Jaymz has left the bands due to personal reasons, and we wish him the best in his future. We believe we will cross musical path again soon.

"As someone once quote; change is inevitable, growth is intentional.

"With the change in the middle of our recording progress we only see growth and potential when we welcome Phil Gee to the Death Audio family. Phil has been friends with guitarist Will Borland for many years now, and with years of experience as front man/guitarist of New Skinn (www.newskinn.com) Phil has already brought beneficial melodies and riffs to the music.

"To all our die hard fans, we apologise we haven't given you any more updates with the album. We have been spending the past 8 weeks drilling Phil with new songs. However we can tell you now that there will be a new teaser coming your way soon.

"Keep your horns up high, and spread the word about Death Audio."

Forming in 2007, Death Audio is currently in the process of recording their self-titled debut album with engineer Ren Parasi, who has previously worked with the quintet on tracks such as ‘Place The Blame’, ‘Murderous Times’ and ‘Dust Off Your Memories’.

Guitarist Will Borland commented:

"This album has probably been one of the hardest journeys I have ever encountered. The album keeps getting postponed because of member changes and financial problems. But the solid members in the band keep pushing through to pursue this dream.

"There is also another change we will be announcing in a few weeks, just can’t let out the news now.”

The forthcoming album will be mastered overseas, with artwork created by Uzi Emperado, and is tentatively scheduled for a mid-November release.
