Katatonia Finalises 20th Anniversary Tour - Australia Misses Out
Swedish metal maestros Katatonia have announced a seven-date run of special 20th anniversary shows, with Australian fans, however, missing out. The headlining shows come in celebration of two massive decades for the Swedes and will take place in the United States and Canada whilst the band is in North America for their upcoming Heritage Tour with progressive death metal outfit Opeth.
Commented the band:
“You might remember we pulled off the ‘Last Fair Day Gone Night’ tour in Europe earlier this spring to celebrate our 20th anniversary? Well, since the year ain’t over yet we figured we’d give you a special treat and extend this tour by taking it across the pond.
"This means that all 6 of our headlining sideshows will consist of a long double set where we’ll play you the ‘Last Fair Deal Gone Down’ album in it’s entirety followed by a “best of” surprise set.”
For those lucky enough to attend, [we'll be selling our souls for this one], the tour dates for "Last Fair Day Gone Night 2011" are as follows:
- September 16th Ottawa, ON @ Zaphod Beeblebrox
- September 17th Quebec City, QC @ Agitee
- September 18th Montreal, QC @ Foufounes
- September 24th Rochester, NY @ Montage Music Hall
- September 25th Cleveland, OH @ Peabody's
