Opeth Takes Us to Its Orchard
Swedish progressive metallers Opeth have premiered the first song off their forthcoming new album, Heritage, set for a September 16th release through Roadrunner Records.
‘The Devil’s Orchard’ not only includes completely clean vocals from front-man and guitarist Mikael Åkerfeldt, but also features guest appearances from Swedish flautist/composer Björn J:son Lindh and Weather Report percussionist Alex Acuña.
“[It] feels like I’ve been building up to write for and participate on an album like this since I was 19,” stated Åkerfeldt with regard to their latest studio effort, Heritage. Opeth's forthcoming release comes as their tenth full-length album and follow-up to Watershed, released in 2008 to critical acclaim, and landing at #7 on the Australian ARIA albums chart.
