Finally, New Music from Wintersun!

Fan-filmed footage of a recent performance from Finnish epic metallers Wintersun has been released on-line, showcasing the band performing a brand new song, entitled ‘The Way of the Fire’! 

Shot only days ago, July 23rd, during the band’s performance at the Tuska Open Air Metal Festival in Helsinki, the video is available below.

Forming in 2004 by multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Jari Mäenpäa [ex- Ensifernum], the quartet features drummer Kai Hahto [Swallow The Sun], guitarist Teemu Mäntysaari and bassist Jukka Koskinen. 

September 2004 saw the release of Wintersun’s debut, self-title studio album, through Nuclear Blast Records, with the follow-up, Time, originally scheduled for a November 2006 release, before being delayed to August 2007 and further into 2008 – now finding itself in a stalemate, delayed for an indeterminate period of time.

Recording for the sophomore release commenced in 2006 at Sonic Pump Studios, Helsinki, however technical issues, most notably equipment and recording problems ran into by main-man Jari, have hindered the previously scheduled mixing sessions.
