KARNIVOOL Sine Waves and Mirrors tour

Unfortunately, US prog rockers Dredg will no longer be touring Australia with Karnivool this November/December. After further planning and some unexpected twists Dredg management have announced the band will not be in Australia for the Sine Waves and Mirrors tour. Karnivool apologise to their fan base for this unforeseen change but this decision was completely beyond their control.

Taking their place is Sydney live and radio favourites Regular John who along with opening act Coerce should well and truly get things warmed up and maybe a little kicked in the ass before Karnivool hit the stage. Thanks to them for taking up the challenge!

Karnivool’s rabid fan base has again come out in force with a very healthy uptake for ticket sales for the Sine Waves and Mirrors tour. Melbourne fans will get an extra show with a date added at The Palace Theatre on Thursday December 3rd – tickets for this show are on sale now and the show on Wednesday December 2nd is about to sell out as other shows noted below. Having just completed a hugely successful international tour over the past couple of months Karnivool are fully primed to deliver killer sets for their Australian fans.

Their recent jaunt kicked off with our friendly neighbours over the Tasman where the band played to a full house at the Kings Arms in Auckland, they then jetted to the states for a couple of key performances including a ripper show at The Knitting Factory in Hollywood followed by a trip across the continent for record crowds with the queue curbing around the block for their performance at Don Hills in New York City. They then crossed to the UK for a monster and completely sold out run with old mates Ragga Punk Metal outfit SKINDRED again turning on new found friends and fans along the way! The Sound Awake album came out in the UK as they toured and it’s been well received with a hot 4 star review from the heavy rock bible Kerrang. “The band build intensity slowly… before collapsing in a hail of expansive melodies that…are little short of breathtaking. This is impressive stuff. – KKKK.” UK Guitarist mag acclaimed the album “…the progressive rock album of the year.” with their 4 ½  star review, whilst Rock Sound called Sound Awake “an album of immense progressive proportions” in their 8/10 review.

‘All I Know’, the new single from the Sound Awake album is currently being serviced to radio, with work being completed on yet another striking video full of special effects with an abstract sci-fi style clip built around a bizarre labyrinth.

KARNIVOOL will return to the USA next year for the release of their ‘Sound Awake’ album in February. Sound Awake’s release in other European territories is being negotiated at the moment as is a Japanese release.

A reminder these are the last shows for KARNIVOOL in 2009, tickets are selling fast so make sure you don’t miss out!
