CHUD - Blood & Blone EP
Article by deadsets_blog on Sun, 29/08/2010 - 4:05pm
Upon first listen of Chud's BLOOD & BONE you can't help but think hell... where is that bass? Where is the mastering?? Still, Blood & Bone achieves an inner depth musically by drawing you deep into the bowels of a mad man's doom ladened Utopia.
From the start, Blood & Bone seems to borrow as much from nu-metal of later days as it lends to providing a Upbeat style of Doom. The simple yet effective savage low end coupled with the ammunition style drumming combined with the savage ferocity of vocalist Whiskey Jones communicate to the listener 2 points – This isn't Music. This is War.
The lads from CHUD have hit home with this reviewer in terms of providing that simple yet effective style of Metal that delves into doom as much as it does the later days of nu-metal. The moshpit guitar riffery that the we (the listener), have longed to hear for so long. No guitar wankery intent on becoming the next Rock God inherent in this sure-to-be-crowd-favourite savage low end of Godf**k.
CHUD are straight to the point Metal that's sure to bring all the metal heads to the yard for future shows with the devil's guitar riffage, providing the solid base for ammunition expert Lew Daxx to provide the perfect assault from the double kicks of opener Choke right through to the brazilian tribal influence of The River.
If it's solo after solo after solo you are looking for here then I'm sorry but you sure as hell aren't going to find it. What you will find is the perfect soundtrack to the insane with closing track Cyclopean taking you through an uncomfortable journey to the bitter end.

ELIMINATION SIGN TO TRANSCEND
Article by ByronJC on Fri, 27/08/2010 - 11:45am
Transcend are very pleased to announce the latest edition to their label and management roster. Formed in 2007, Elimination had one vision; to create pure metal devastation. They did just that with the release of their debut EP, 'Welcome to Deathrow' and follow up EP, 'Nightmare Asylum'.
Decimating audiences with live performances all over the UK, Elimination have since shared the stage with the likes of Evile, Gama Bomb, Criminal, Wolf, Cauldron, Forbidden, and Accept. April 2010 saw the release of their debut album, 'Destroyed by Creation'. Already described as the best British Thrash album of the year, it bears twelve tracks that expertly combine the melody and brutality that make Heavy Metal great.
Rob Ferguson of Transcend commented – ‘Elimination are pure British Thrash at its very best and are a welcome addition to our stable of straight up home grown Metal acts. Here at Transcend we always have an eye out for bands with the potential to stick around for the long haul and ride out the affectations of the scene bands. Elimination have a bunch of killer tunes and an awesome video ready to go which we cannot wait to unleash. Release details will be announced soon.’
