I’m going to make this review short…& awesome! Just like the new Municipal Waste album ‘The Fatal Feast’ At a running time just shy of 38 minutes, these 16 songs have been written as a soundtrack for a cross-over thrashers wet dream. In true MW form a good percentage of the songs are at break neck speed thanks to ever growing talent of Mr Dave Witte on the drums (by my count he’s recorded  51 albums so far…). Municipal Waste has a skill of telling it how it is, singing about life...
AS I LAY DYING - Decas
I still remember all those years ago when I first heard As I Lay Dying's major label debut 'Frail Words Collapse' & thinking, these guys have discovered the new sound or that next evolution that Metal needed after an overall rather lack-luster decade called the 90’s & Nu Metals brief stint...

In the wake of Arch Enemys Australian leg of their Khaos Legions Tour, Nic Raffo caught up with beautiful and brutal, Angela Gossow, to discuss being a woman in Heavy Metal, touring without Christopher Amott and what Australian music she is listening to. Hey there Angela, first of all. Happy...

Cannibal Corpse - Torture
After 3 years since their last album, Cannibal Corpse is back with their twelfth studio album Torture, and what a disappointment it is. It’s not that they have changed their musical style and it’s not that they are bad musicians but it is just vocally disappointing and doesn’t have anything to...

Alcest - Musical Magic
Alcest’s musical history stretches back, past two full-length albums (Souvenirs D’un Autre Monde and Ecailles de Lune) and one EP (Le Secret – re-recorded and re-released earlier this year in stunning quality). The sum of multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Neige’s discography, however, says...
TABERAH Live Sydney 7th Octoberr & Newcastle 8th October
The Australian Metal scene has produced some amazing Metal bands, some of which have gone on to international success and recognition, and others, who unfortunately, didn’t or are not, getting the relevant breaks or support they deserve. TABERAH are a young outfit from Tasmania. The first time I...
Opeth - Heritage(deluxe edition)
As possibly one of my most anticipated albums of the year, Opeth's Heritage makes for an interesting listen, particularly when compared to their earlier work. After an excruciatingly long wait for this album to be released, since it was recorded in late January and eventually released on September...
